Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzales-Collins, who is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works for ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She started working for ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bi-lingual since her age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in securing her first position as production assistant at Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of the shows Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then her first job, her CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. She also worked as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. Covering stories on immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the border between Mexico and Texas, she was the reporter for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of news at 9 p.m. news in English in addition to an anchor for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was often requested to fill in as a sports and weather anchor. In the end, she was appointed anchor reporter and anchor for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. Her duties were then expanded to larger responsibilities. She also did segments on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports broadcast Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor herself. In addition, she was the host for the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. She also served in that as a reporter for the magazine program Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents are originally origins from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved into Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November in 1985. Her sister is also there. The family relocated from Mexico to Miami in 1992 after they left Mexico. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother remarried with a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. At the end of June 2006, she had a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. A senior at high school, but having an idea of about what she wanted to pursue with her life Antonietta visited her local University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her requirements. She discovered that she enjoyed the university and also that the university had the major she wanted. When she finished her high-school studies, she decided to go to the University to pursue media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the managing director at WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be confident and self-confident. His passion for journalism had a profound impact on her as did she. She tried to exceed his standards and never fail him.
