Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. In the last decade Angela Evelyn has appeared on film and television. The actress has won several awards, among them 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt in New York New York. Bassett moved with her older sister St. Petersburg Florida at five years old in order to be closer to their mother and father, who had separated from their father. Bassett, while in high-school was a fan of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she decided to become an actress. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut receiving a bachelor's degree (1980) on African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. the Yale School of Drama conferred an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Basssett in the year 1980. She was a student at the institutions that she attended: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for seventh graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th and 9th grades and Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett, who plays Ramonda the lead female character in the adventure action film I. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
